The ORIENT EXPRESS project begins in the
early 2002 with Wito (bass guitar and voice), Pablo (drums), Gg (guitar)
and later with Blondy (synth).
After the release of a self-produced demo, in 2003, the bands started
a long live activity during the which they played in many festivals and
above all supporting great acts of the indie Italian and foreign scene.
The most important shows happened in Milan with the I-Tim Tour with the
song “Master Of Mind” and it permitted to present the show
on Rock TV and their interviews also appeared on the tv shows “Database”
and “On the road”. Other great live experiences were in Rome,
Florence and many other Italian cities supporting well-known acts like
Tiromancino, Rock Tv Tour with punk bands such as Moravagine, Pornoriviste,
Skandalo al sole, Eugenio Finardi, Radiodervish, Chop Chop Band, Yo Yo
Mundi, Punkreas, Bisca, Marlene Kuntz, Sea and Music Fest, Controfestival,
September Beer Festival, Torbido Rock Festival ect. In May 2006 the band
reached the “Critical Prize” for the European Party with their
own version of european anthem. In June 2006 the band performed at the
Sziget Festival (the world renowned Budapest rock).
After 3 long years spent on live stages in the summer of 2006 the band
started recording their debut album at Beppe Massara’s Gel studio
in Trani and, in May 2007, they signed with the indipendent italian label
My Kingdom Music for the first release (out on 05/09/2007).
Wito says about his own band: “we cannot be described with a
single musical label, we could be rock, hard rock or pop. And although
each member has his own influences, we've found a common ground in Motorpsycho,
God Machine and psychedelic music from 70’ies and, talking about
lyrics, with some bands of the so called "grunge" era, that
we feel we belong to. We like present our music and philosophy with a
Milan Kundera quote “People are becoming deaf because the music
is played ever louder, but because of they’re becoming deaf, the
music have to be played ever louder”. I think there is no better
way to introduce you to “Illusion”. ORIENT EXPRESS welcomes
you on their dreaming magic trip. |
